I cannot wait to finally hold her and wish her a happy birthday and giver her a million kisses on those huge cheeks!!!
I'll update as soon as I'm up to it with a picture of our little beauty! (Just don't expect a long update for a while.)
Thats all for now! :)

Friday Favorite

Ok so this is weird but it will make sense in a minute or so ... this weeks friday favorite is my favorite commercials!

Any and every M&M commercial! I just love those guys! They always make me laugh!

The reason I thought of this is of course because of my cute nephew! And my awesome sissy. She so sweetly thought of me and Little B while she was on vacation in NY and got us a great present! I LOVE it!

Here it is....

Little B Update

I'm home!
BGG is locked up tight until the 30th unless something else happens. I'm on bed rest and have a feeling I will be kinda bored the next few days but I'll gets lots of sleep before she comes. Too bad sleep can't be stockpiled for when you need it later.

So the details: BP is totally normal, no Protein in 24 hour collection and still not dilating at all despite the contractions.

I can't decide if I'm excited about this or bummed. I can't wait to meet her (and have her head and feet out of my ribs) but I know the longer she stays an inside baby the healthier she will be. Now I'm off to eat a blizzard and watch a movie with J.
Night all!

What a Night!

Yesterday was my 39 week check up for Little B. And it turned into a whole lot more than that. ... At my appointment my blood pressure was higher than normal and there was protein in my urine so the DR was a bit concerned and sent me directly to the hospital for a couple hours of monitoring. No big deal right? Right? WRONG!

We got all checked in they hooked me up to the monitors and the blood pressure cuff and we settled in for a couple hours. They drew tons of blood (vampires!) and had me start a 24 hour urine collection to check on the protein levels. They were looking for signs of pre-eclampsia. (I have no idea how to spell that.) They called the on-call DR at my OBs office and he said to keep an eye on me for a few hours and that if my blood pressure didn't go down that we may do the C/S last night if not then it would be today at noon!!! I got over my shock and was ok with it since I'm so uncomfortable and I was having somewhat regular contractions. After a few hours of high blood pressure and contractions the nurse said chances were 90% we would be having our baby girl in our arms today! :) WAHOO!

So J went home, got our bags and came back up to settle in for a long night of anticipation. About 8AM 2 of the DRs came in and checked me and the baby- she is still breech - and I am not dilated at all despite the fun of the contractions. So since my Blood Pressure was back down to normal they SENT US HOME!

I'm not too pleased about it. They now have me on bed rest for the next week and I'm still doing the 24 hour collection. I have to bring it up to the hospital at 6 tonight, have more blood drawn, get hooked back up to the monitors for an hour and see how I am at that point. BGG is perfect. There were no issues with her heartbeat or movement through out the entire thing so that was a relief of course.

So after tonight's test if all is well back home we come for me to lay around until either the scheduled C/S next week, my water breaks, or the contractions get worse. If tonight's test isn't too good then BGG will possibly be born tomorrow. All I know is if they make me stay overnight again and I don't have my baby girl in my arms tomorrow someone is going to get screamed at! ;)

I will try to get an update done tonight or tomorrow- it may be short but there should be an update. Depends on where we are and what kind of energy I have. ANNNND.... there is a fun Friday Favorite post all set up for tomorrow! Enjoy it!

WAHOOOO!!!

My brother comes home today! WAHOO! For 2 weeks! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOO! He will be here in 3 hours!!
I'm so stinkin excited to see him! I haven't seen him since March when our nephew was born. I hate when he goes back to Cali. He just needs to move home damn it!

For about a month before he comes home I get all giddy and talk about it multiple times a week. J just laughs and laughs at me. But then I actually get into a bit of a funk when he leaves for a few weeks. Its sad.

I'm so happy that he is coming home now for a couple reasons.
1. He rocks!
2. He always comes home for the 4th of July - which is my favorite day of the year! And we always have the best parties. (Which I will be missing unless Little B decides to come early.)
3. He is staying extra long because he wants to be here when Little B is born. He is going to be a great Uncle even if he lives hours and hours away.

And on that last point Litle B will be here in 9 days or less. I can't believe we are down to single digit countdown. Though to tell you the truth I'm ready for her to come any time now... I'm getting VERY uncomfortable! It isn't cool having a head and feet tucked up under your ribs. Ouch!
But in other AWESOME news.... tomorrow is my lastg day in the office for a loooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time!

Yay for family!!!

Chubby Cheeks!

BGG has still got them and I'm soooo happy!
She is so cute!

We had an UltraSound today to check on the fluid on her kidneys. The fluid is still there but it hasn't gotten any worse so thats good. The DR will update us on it next week. Little B is even more breech than I thought. The way I feel her moving in there I thought that she was butt and feet down but OH NO! Her feet are all the way up by her head. In other words they are in my ribs! (Just as they should be if her head was down but noooooo!) ;)

After our DR appt today I came home to find a package waiting for me from my nestie angel! I was so surprised and I LOVE IT! She made, yes made, BGG a quilt. It is gorgeous and her thoughtfulness and generosity brought a tear to my eyes. I have technically never even met her but have been talking on our message board for a few years. What an amazing woman!

And in other news mommy, Sissy, little nephew and my cousin are coming over tomorrow and I'm excited. We will get BGGs room done! (Except for a couple little things I still need to buy. But that is no big deal.)

Have a great night everyone and ...

GOOOOOOOOOOO HAWKS! Kick some butt!

It can happen any day now....

me becoming a mom that is.

As of Saturday if I go into Labor the DR won't stop it. WOW!!!!!!!!! That is just crazy to me that I am at the point where I'm allowed to have this baby! It has gone so so fast!

Lets hope she stays put for a few more weeks so that she gets a little bit stronger so she doesn't have any problems when she makes her debut. And so her daddy and I can get the rest of the things done that we need to. ;)

As of Friday I am scheduled for a C-Section on June 30th at Noon. Its so weird to know her birthday. Unless of course I go into labor before that and if she does happen to flip we will go ahead and cancel. (Fingers still crossed.)

We are making headway on a name for little B. We have it down to our top 3 choices and a whole bunch of middle name ideas. We aren't going to decide anything until she is born but we are getting closer.

And Wednesday we get to see Little B again! Can't wait! Hopefully her kidney issue has cleared up and they won't need to do an UltraSound after she is born.

I'll be back after that with an update. :) Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Friday Favorite

This weeks Friday Favorite was an easy choice... my favorite vacation (only easy in that I'm dreaming of a vacation so since I can't go anywhere I'm reflecting on an old one.)

Depends on who you talk to if you consider this a vacation or not since it lasted 2 months! But I count it since I wasn't in this city, this state or even this country! Hell I wasn't even on this continent! LONDON! I can hardly believe that it was 8 years ago in August. That doesn't seem right to me.

I lived in London for 2 amazing months, granted I was going to school so it wasn't a total vacation but who are we kidding when your drinking everyday, exploring new places, meeting amazing people and eating amazing food it is vacation. And even despite doing all those things all the time I did really well in my classes.

What I wouldn't do to go back there. I made some of the best friends a girl could ask for. I worked with one of them for over a year after we moved back to Chicago, I talked to another one yesterday (who I haven't seen in 6 years because we can't schedule things to work out and meet up.)

Back to the point of this favorite post. I think everything about that trip made it my favorite. I learned so much about myself and what I want out of life (and didn't want out of life but that's another story!) I loved the history, the architecture, the people, the museums, the parks, the shopping, the food, the people; have I mentioned the people? I loved the late nights exploring neighborhoods (and pubs), I loved going to the Globe Theater to see a Shakespeare play, walking across the London Bridge, taking the tube and those awesome black taxis. And 8 million other things we did.

Oh and the side trips we took were AMAZING! My favorite was to Edinburgh, Scotland. Some of us climbed (ok hiked) up a mountain in the middle of the night and spent the night up there talking and forming friendships that will never end. Plus that is where I found my favorite drink. Oh how I love it. Too bad I can't get it in the US. It is WKD Blue - tastes like blue raspberry blow pops. YUM-O! Thanks to one of my friends I actually have a bottle waiting for me after little B is born. :)
One of our other side trips was to Amsterdam and I'm not getting into those stories but lets just say it was interesting.

J and I will be going to London some day mark my words. I know it won't be the same, especially since I have grown up quite a bit in the years since and won't be partying like we did then, but I can't wait for the day I get to show him the places I went and he can see why I love it so much. And maybe on our trip there I will do more of the touristy things too. ;)

Oh and PS another fav from that trip would have to be doing cartwheels past Big Ben at 3AM!

Lots to catch up on.

Well I know this post should have been written a while ago and I'm sorry but I'm exhausted! Baking a baby sure can take it out of you. (Plus I have been busy busy writing thank you notes for all of the amazing gifts we were given for our little girl at our showers. She is already spoiled as all heck!)

May 8th we had our first shower with my family and it was AMAZING! My mom, aunt, sister and cousin went all out. They made my parents basement look like a farm! It was so cute. We had a wonderful time visiting with people that we don't get to see nearly enough and I got to snuggle our little nephew too! Can't beat any of those things.

The next weekend we had another shower with J's family, which was equally amazing! It was at his parents new house, which is gorgeous! Again it was so good visiting with people we don't get to see very often and the little man was there again! :) I just love him and his cuteness!

A few days after the shower we had our maternity pictures! I Love how they turned out! It was much colder out and not as sunny as we had hoped for (for some cool sunset pics) but it was fun and I'm so happy with the results!

Since then things have been busy getting ready for little B. Her room is basically done. (Sneak peak in one of the maternity pics.) J needs to re-do the window trim and I have to re-finish the dresser, organize everything and we are good to go! So hopefully by the end of the weekend/middle of next week we will be set.
Over memorial day weekend we did take some time to enjoy ourselves and it was great. We spent Sunday at my parents with some of our family. My little nephew went swimming for the first time and he loved it! And was the cutest thing I've ever seen!!

Today we had our 36 week DR appt and that means we are onto weekly appointments now! Baby Girl is still breech and as of this point we are scheduling a C-Section for June 30th. 4 weeks from today I will be a mom!!! What a crazy feeling. Unless of course she flips. Then we will cancel and see when she decides to come on her own. I'm feeling a bit better about the whole C/S thing though of course it still isn't my first choice.

Now here I sit watching the Hawks, listening to J scream at the refs, waiting not so patiently for my cake to come out of the oven. :)
