Toys Toys Toys

Boy oh boy does Brynn know how to have a good time! And holy cow does she have the toys to help her with it!

One of her favorites from the time she was itty bitty is ... wait for it, wait for it...."holey" cow. Soooo cheesy I know! (I love it)

Photobucket
(Look at how little she was! This picture is from our vacation to FL. She was almost 3 months old.)

She also LOVES Sophie the Giraffe. Girl grins from ear to ear when she first hears that squeak.

Photobucket
(She now gives Sophie necklaces. haha. This was from ... St Patricks Day! I bet you couldn't guess based on her outfit!)

Photobucket
(She was a little over 3 months in this picture)

One of my favorites (and just because of what it is...) her first camera! Yay!
Photobucket
(From Christmas - almost 6 months)

One of her very favorites that she spends a ton of time with (especially on days I work from home) is her exersaucer! I got an amazing deal on it at Cutie Poops when the owner was selling it because her twins outgrew it.

For Christmas her Auntie Jessy and Uncle Scotty got her her very first kitchen. I stink'n love this toy. It gets old don't get me wrong but watching her play with it makes hearing "Put some water in the sink, if you're thirsty pour a drink, clean the dishes, fill the pans and don't forget to wash your hands." about 50 times in a 10 minute period not so terrible. She shrieks and screams at it the second that song starts. She has also started "dancing" along bouncing up and down. It is adorable!

Oh and her puppy. She has had a love affair with the puppy from about 1 month old. It is so funny and she laughs hysterically when I sing along with The Itsy Bitsy Spider or Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. And to watch her do "SO BIG" when the puppy says it is pretty darn entertaining I'm not going to lie.

Baby Einstein's Take Along Tunes may be one of the best inventions ever. She lights up when she hears it. She will climb over anything in her way to get to it when it is playing. (Ours is an older version it looks pretty different but I'm willing to bet this would get the same joyous reaction!)

There you have it B's favorite toys! Maybe it will help one of you with gift selections or buying for your own little one.

9 Months...

I can't even believe that Brynnie B is 9 months old today (the exact minute this post went up actually!)

It doesn't seem possible that she has been an "outside" baby for the same amount of time that she was an "inside" baby. How do 9 months fly by so fast?!

She amazes me more and more as each day passes. She is SOOOO smart! She recognizes things so easily. She saw a picture of me while I was gone this weekend and J said she went nuts talking to it. She has realized which songs come out of which toys and which part of said toy. (And she now dances to them!!! YAY!) She pulls up on anything she can get to. And she doesn't want to sit still. She would still rather not crawl but will if someone isn't there to help her walk. She HATES to be put down after walking. I have mentioned it before but we don't feed Brynn purees. Everything she has ever eaten she has fed herself. She picked it up so quickly and I was so proud of her! She now eats all kinds of fruits, veggies and meats all by herself. So far I think the only thing she won't eat is sweet potatoes.

We have her 9 month well visit soon and after we do I will update with her size and news from the DR. I will also include her monthday pictures in that because I will be taking them tonight. :)

Here is a picture from this weekend when J brought her to meet my friends! (The next post will be about that I promise!)

My girl makes me laugh!!

I mean seriously laugh - belly laugh - especially when she laughs. She is so stink'n funny!
This weekend was wonderful!!! We spent Friday night at home and actually fell asleep BEFORE 10! Unheard of!
Saturday we spent lounging around the house and then went to dinner at Islamorada inside Bass Pro Shops. It was so much fun and Brynnie was the hit of the restaurant. Seriously. Our waitress said that 5 tables (other than hers) stopped her to ask if she was waiting on our table and to say what a cutie B is! As we were walking in 2 girls in their midtwenties commented on her. And a sweet little older woman at the table next to us stopped to talk to her and told us about her daughter adopting a little kid. It broke my heart. She is adopting a 3 year old from Ethiopia who weighs only 19 lbs. The thought of that malnutrition makes me so sad for the helpless child. But that could be a whole different post.

And in other Brynnie news girl is now rock'n 4 teeth! 2 on the bottom and 2 on the top! Way to go baby love!

She now eats like I'm never going to feed her again. We are doing what is called Baby Led Weaning which basically means she self feeds. I have tried to give her some purees and she wants NOTHING to do with them. I mean nothing. She will turn her head away and scream if you try to spoon feed her lets say sweet potatos but if you plop a "fry" shaped or a bite sized piece on her tray she can't eat it fast enough. I am SO glad we decided to feed her this way. It is slower at the get go but now that she has gotten the hang of it she is a champ. Yesterday for breakfast she had 1/2 a banana and 1/2 of a pear. She also takes to new tastes much faster now, I can't think of a food she won't eat if I hand it to her.

Here are some pictures from this weekend.

Watching Monsters Inc. She LOVES this movie. Normally when we put it on she will sit up straight and bounce up and down screaming and talking to Mike & Sully. She was sleepy before bathtime though and just layed there for about 10 minutes. It was so sweet.

Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day to all my lovely readers! I hope you have a wonderful time if you celebrate this Hallmark Holiday! ;)

J and I don't. We usually get each other a card and call it a day. I said Happy Valentines Day to him this morning and he looked like a deer caught in headlights. He said he didn't even realize it was today! haha.

However, I had a valentines photo shoot with B a couple weeks ago and want to share the pictures! I'm so in love with them. I made her tutu and she is wearing my pearls my grandparents gave me for my 8th grade graduation.

A Post of Pictures

I had a mini photoshoot with Brynnie the other day because I LOVED her outfit so I want to share a few of the pictures.

And I have to AW my little girl... she knows how to do "SO BIG". She puts her arms up whenever anyone says it. Sometimes she will grab her hands and pull them up together and she grins the.whole.entire.time. She sometimes sticks her tongue out too and it is ADORABLE!

Cloth Diaper Detergent

Hi! My name is Paige and I'm addicted to cloth diapers.

That being said I have a review on a cloth diaper detergent. Let me preface this by saying I HATED RockN Green. It was terrible! I would seriously want to die when I opened the bag or even just took a diaper off of B. The ammonia stink was terrible. I NEEDED something new.

Then I heard about this great new product made by a WAHD (Work at Home Dad)! It is called Eco Sprout and people at my local CD shop Cutie Poops and Bottoms RAVE about it. (For sale in store and online.) Also availible direct from Eco Sprout.

(Side note: Cutie Poops may be my most favorite store ever. They carry great products, offer amazing classes, and have the nicest most knowledgable employees. Oh and the owner has tons of experience cloth diapering since she has cutie pie twins!)

The WAHD really wanted a NATURAL and Eco Friendly detergent that could be used to cover anything he needed it to. From the daily family laundry to the baby's clothes to the ammonia stench filled cloth diapers.
Each batch of Eco Sprout is hand made and mixed, ensuring a pure batch.  They want families to know that small changes can make a big difference! Changing to an all natural detergent that is highly concentrated limits waste. And seriously who doesn't want something that isn't over processed and chemical filled on their baby's teeny tiny tushie?

So I got my sample from Eco Sprout to review on here and let me tell you it smells Oh My God Ah-Mazing! I got the Cinnamon Stick Seasonal Scent and I LOVED the way it smelled. I was impatient to use it right away but I had just done diaper laundry the day before so I had 2 days to wait to use it! (I may or may not have smelled it multiple times during that 2 days.)
So the night I did laundry I held my breath dumped in the diapers and did a regular wash cycle. The directions say to do a soak but I wanted to see what it did without.
I'm sad to say that was a big mistake. My diapers smelled great coming out of the wash and I was so hopeful.... then I put them on her. Still had the ammonia stink. BOOO. I was disappointed but wanted to give it a couple more chances to test things out. I actually went to Cutie Poops and got another sample even though I could do 3 more loads with my sample I had. (The scent they had availible was Warm Vanilla Sugar - I HATE vanilla but this stuff smelled good - I was pleasantly surprised.)

So I used all of my first sample doing 4 regular washs and had no luck with the stench. :( Then I wanted to try the soak. I FINALLY got around to doing that this past weekend.

I let the diapers soak for almost 12 hours in 2 TBSP of the detergent (Recommended is 3 but I have soft water so I always use less detergent). Full wash cycle with no detergent and then one more full wash cycle with no detergent, then for good measure to make sure the detergent was really out I did a cold rinse. The results....

still have the smell. I'm disappointed about that of course. But what I am most upset about is something I didn't mention until now DIAPER RASH. B never had a rash with the other detergent and every time she has a diaper on that was washed with Eco Sprouts she gets a rash. Right now she actually has a blister. :(

Needless to say I won't be using Eco Sprout but I know several others who will use nothing but. I think it is worth a chance at least. Hopefully you will like them.

And good news is in the mean time I did find a detergent that works amazingly well for us. Baby Dropps. After 1 wash the smell was gone and the rash from before started to clear up.

Hope this helps someone.

My little girl is 14lbs 10 oz and 25.25" long. She is a little thing! Only 10% for weight and 25% for height! But she is growing steadily and the Dr is very happy with where she is at. She is just a petite little thing.
